Kenya Safari Tour

One of the finest wildlife sanctuaries in Kenya, is the Maasai Mara, home to migrant birds, about 57 different species of birds of prey and wildlife in abundance. On arrival, one is immediately struck by the large herds of elephant, shuffling about almost the grasslands. Due to the prolific amount of game, it is not surprising that lion, cheetah and leopard find an ongoing source of food here. Within the Mara river, hippo wallow.

However, by far the most spectacular sight in the Mara, is the massive migration of animals to new grazing pastures each year. Between July and August each year, literally millions of wildebeest, often aptly termed the "clowns of the African wildlife", head in their droves from the Serengeti in search of fresh grasslands further north towards the Maasai Mara in Kenya.

The best place from which to view the mass migration is from the Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya.

Kenya National Parks and Game Reserves

Lake Baringo is one of the most northern lakes of the Kenyan Rift Valley, with a surface area of about 130 square kilometres (50 sq mi) and an elevation of about 970 metres (3,180 ft). The lake is fed by several rivers but with no obvious outlet, the waters are assumed to seep through lake sediments into the volcanic bedrock below. It is one of the two freshwater lakes in the Rift Valley in Kenya, the other being Lake Naivasha. It lies off the beaten track in a hot and dusty setting and over 470 species of birds have been recorded there, occasionally including migrating flamingos.

Lake Baringo is also well known for two of its waters' residents- Hippos and Crocodiles.

Known as the 'Bird Watchers Paradise,' at an elevation of 1754 m above sea level, this lake is surrounded by wooded and bushy grassland. The lake's abundance of algae used to attract a vast quantity of flamingos that famously lined the shore. Other birds also flourish in the area, as do warthogs, baboons and other large mammals. Eastern black rhinos and southern white rhinos have also been introduced. The lake's level dropped dramatically in the early 1990s but has since largely recovered. In 2013, the lake received an alarming increase in the water levels that led to the migration of flamingos to Lake Bogoria in search for food supply. Nakuru means "Dust or Dusty Place" in the Maasai language.

The Maasai Mara National Reserve is a large game reserve in Narok County, Kenya; contiguous with the Serengeti National Park in Mara Region, Tanzania. Hell's Gate National Park lies south of Lake Naivasha in Kenya, north west of Nairobi. Hell's Gate National Park is named after a narrow break in the cliffs, once a tributary of a prehistoric lake that fed early humans in the Rift Valley. Named for the intense geothermal activity within its boundaries, the Hell's Gate National Park is a remarkable quarter of the Great Rift Valley. Spectacular scenery including the towering cliffs, water-gouged gorges, stark rock towers, scrub clad volcanoes and belching plumes of geothermal steam make it one of the most atmospheric Parks in Africa. Hell’s Gate is an ideal venue for a day trip from Nairobi where, in addition to the bio-diversity that includes raptors, visitors can enjoy mountain biking, rock climbing and a natural spa.
The Samburu National Reserve is a game reserve on the banks of the Ewaso Ng'iro river in Kenya. On the other side of the river is the Buffalo Springs National Reserve. The park is 165 km² in size and is situated 350 kilometers from Nairobi. It ranges in altitude from 800 to 1230m above sea level. In the middle of the reserve, the Ewaso Ng'iro flows through doum palm groves and thick riverine forests. It provides water, without which the game in this arid region could not survive. The Samburu National Reserve was one of the two areas in which conservationists George Adamson and Joy Adamson raised Elsa the Lioness made famous in the best selling book and award winning movie Born Free.
Amboseli National Park is one of Kenya's most popular parks. The name 'Amboseli' comes from a Maasai word meaning "salty dust", and it is one of the best places in Africa to view large herds of elephants up close. It is also renowned for its incredible backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak.
