Day 6. French Guyana
(Breakfast)
Tour of Arianne, the French Space Centre, based in Kourou. Its proximity
to the equator makes it ideal for launches into geostationary orbit as few
changes have to be made to a satellite's trajectory. Launchers also
benefit from the 'slingshot' effect, that is, the energy created by
the speed of the Earth's rotation around the axis of the Poles. These
important factors save fuel and money, and prolong the active life of
satellites, hence the location of this station. After the tour, return to
Paramaribo in Surinam. Transfer to your hotel.

within 2.5 hours. The Mazaroni plateau offers a spectacular view of the
Afobaka power dam. Paths will take you, through the rainforest, to
beautiful waterfalls where you will enjoy unexpected panoramas of the
far-stretching green treetops of the interior.

cacophony of city life is muted by shaded, tree-lined avenues interspersed
with seventeenth-century Dutch wooden structures alternated with modern

and religion, Paramaribo is one of the few places in the world where
Muslim mosques, Hindu temples, Jewish synagogues and Christian churches
