SANTIAGO TO PUNTA ARENAS TOUR CHILE

Our tours are based on both fixed departures, as well as custom planned based on your needs.

 

SANTIAGO TO PUNTA ARENAS ITINERARY

 

Day 1. (Monday) Santiago

Arrival in Santiago de Chile, reception and transfer to the 4* Gran Palace Hotel.

 

Day 2.Tuesday)Santiago (B)

After breakfast, a half day city tour of Santiago including a visit to the Museo Chileno de Arte Precolombino. This museum offers a thorough overview of 4500 years of pre-Columbian civilization throughout Central and South America. At the Main Square (Plaza de Armas) view the Cathedral, Post Office and National Museum. Continue along the main avenue called "Alameda" to admire the San Francisco Church, the National Library. You shall also see the Mercado Central and is Santiago’s most colourful market and home to many great seafood restaurants. You will then visit Cerro Santa Lucia, where Santiago was founded in 1541 where you can take the aerial cable car, to its summit at 485m for excellent views of the city. Return to hotel.

 

Day 3. (Wednesday) Santiago - Puerto Montt - Puerto Varas (B)

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for the flight to Puerto Montt. City tour of Puerto Montt followed by an afternoon visit of the beautiful town of Puerto Varas.

 

Day 4. (Thursday) Puerto Varas - Petrohue - Lago Todos Los Santos – Bariloche (B)
After breakfast, a visit to the Vincente Perez Rosales National Park to see the native forests and the Petrohue Falls along with the crystalline waters of the Petrohue River. After you will continue on to the All Saints Lake where the cruise across the lake to Peulla begins. With fabulous views of Osorno Volcano, Puntiagudo and Tronador hills you will arrive at Peulla for lunch. Continue on to Puerto Blast with a visit to Cantaros Falls before arriving to Bariloche Argentina by bus. Transfer to hotel.

 

Day 5. (Friday) Bariloche (B)
Free day of leisure to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Bariloche.

 

Day 6. (Saturday) Bariloche - Lago Todos Los Santos- Petrohue - Puerto Varas (B)
After breakfast, return back to Chile and Puerto Montt. Transfer to hotel.

 

Day 7. (Sunday) Puerto Varas – Chiloe (BL)
Visit the beautiful island of Chiloe, the second largest island off South America. Long inhabited by the Mapuche Indians, the island is steeped in mythology and is populated by strange figures including the troll-like Trauco. Seafood lunch and some free time before returning to Puerto Montt.

 

Day 8. (Monday): Puerto Varas - Frutillar - Puerto Montt (BLD)
After breakfast, a visit to the picturesque lakeshore village of Frutillar, home to an old German colony. Lunch and return to Puerto Montt in time to board the ship, the longest scheduled ferry journey in the world (with all meals). Accommodation in a ‘A’double cabin. Passing along the coastline of Chiloe Island we will eventually cross the Reloncavi Inlet and continue on towards the Gulf of Ancud and later enter Moraleda and continue along the Taitao Peninsula.

 

Day 9. (Tuesday): Gulf of Penas (BLD)

The ship will eventually sail out to the Pacific Ocean where it will continue bordering the Taitao Peninsula and then pass through the Gulf of Penas, where the sea conditions can become a little rough.

 

Day 10. (Wednesday): Puerto Eden (BLD)

The ship will sail through Bernardo O'Higgins National Park and continue through the Messier Channel. We will follow the English Passage to arrive to Puerto Eden on Wellington Island. The ship will also cross the Kirke or Santa Maria Channel and their respective Kirke and White Passages.

 

Day 11. (Thursday): Puerto Natales (B)
At the final stretch we will enter the flatter, lower Patagonia, navigating the Gulf of Almirante Montt to arrive at Seno de Ultima Esperanza (Last Hope Sound) and Puerto Natales. Transfer to your hotel, the 3* Juan Ladrilleros

 

Day 12. Puerto Natales - Torres del Paine (BL)
After breakfast, excursion to Torres del Paine National Park and the Milodon cave. The visit includes tours to Lake Sarmiento, Nordennskjold, Pehoe, and Lago Grey. Return to Puerto Natales and your hotel.

 

Day 13. Balmaceda Glacier - Serrano Glacier - Punta Arenas (BL)

After breakfast, full day excursion by boat to the beautiful Balmaceda and Serrano glaciers. After lunch, return to Puerto Natales for the return bus to Punta Arenas. Transfer to your hotel, the 4* Finis Terrea

 

Day 14. Punta Arenas (B)
After breakfast, transfer to Punta Arenas airport for your return flight to Santiago and onward for your flight home.
