Immigration formalities you are transferred to the city for check-in at

Day 2: Hanoi orientation

You’ll have the whole day to explore Vietnam’s capital city. Your guide
will take you to the Temple of Literature, the first university in
Vietnam dating back to the 11th century, and a popular attraction, as is
Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, his simple stilt house where he lived and
worked, and the museum dedicated to his memory.
In the afternoon, we will proceed to the most beautiful museum called
Ethnology museum which you can get an idea about 54 ethnic groups of
Viet Nam and visit some typical rebuilt houses at the outdoor museum. We
will complete the day by exploring the bustling Hanoi Old quarter on
foot. We walk through the vibrant streets market before exploring a real
hidden tube house before resting and enjoy a tasty Vietnamese coffee
while enjoy the fascinating view of the old quarter and Hoan Kiem lake
from the terrace of the house.

Day 3: Hanoi – Halong

After an early breakfast, you’ll leave for Ha Long Bay, one of the most
spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Areas and the world’s largest marine
limestone ‘karst’ landscape. There you’ll board a wooden junk to take
you to the busy World Heritage area and then to an island beach. Weather
permitting, you’ll be able to swim, fish, and climb a hill (not a
mountain!) for an view of the Bay’s remarkable seascapes. From there,
you’ll continue your cruise to visit a fishing village - you’ll also
have an opportunity investigate one of the bay’s sea level caves in a
small sampan or a kayak. The route is designed to avoid the busy areas
and includes a very quiet location for your overnight stay.
You’ll spend the night in the comfortable cabins of Valentine Premium
Junk.
Day 4: Halong – Hanoi

You’ll wake in fresh air of the bay with a swim and/or a Yoga session on
the large sundeck (beginners welcome!). After a light breakfast pastry
and tea or coffee, you’ll dock to visit one of the most famous caves in
the Bay. You’ll return to the junk for a brunch while cruising back to
dock around noon whereupon you’ll leave for Hanoi. Arriving at your
hotel in the mid-afternoon, the remainder of the day will be your own.
Your overnight accommodation will be in Hanoi.
Day 5: Hanoi – Ky Son village

9.00 am, we leave Hanoi in the morning and drive out of the city on the
dyke along the Red river. We stop by a village on the way to visit a
bean spout making family before continuing to Ky Son village through the
peaceful countryside along the way. Ky Son is an ancient Viet village of
the most friendly local farmers who you will meet and interact with
through this two days trip. There are more than a hundred families
living in this village, and most of them are farmers. Upon arrival, you
will enjoy a local speciality ‘welcome drink’: green tea with lemon
grass, ginger and local molasses. A short introduction to the house,
kitchen and garden before we enjoy a home-cooked lunch.
After lunch, you will have a brief discussion with the host about the
village, the local life, learn some basic Vietnamese words and the
traditions of the Vietnamese. We will continue walking or cycling
through the village, visit families along the way as you will be invited
in for a cup of tea and a very friendly chat… The host will not forget
to ask you to bring a long a bamboo basket which you will take to the
village field, pick up some herbal medicine for the traditional style
bath this afternoon. You will be meeting with many local farmers in the
field, who will teach you some basic farm work, and give you sweet corn,
sweet potatoes and vegetable for you to take back to the home-stay for
snack… We will also visit a kinder garden on the way. We are back to the
home-stay later in the afternoon and go fishing. This village is very
famous for its carps which were only saved to serve the Royal family in
the old days. You will have a chance to fish many fish for dinner.
It’s time for dinner and you will join to cook dinner with the host.
There may be ingredients that you have just picked up freshly in the
fields, or the fish you catch in the lake. Before dinner, enjoy a herbal
bath from the leaves you pick up while going to the fields.
The night here is the most precious moment after a full afternoon
activities. You will help the host to make the peanut candies that you
can enjoy tomorrow morning after breakfast with the fresh green tea from
the garden. Enjoy the quiet night in the court yard and a
traditional therapy for your leg using all the herbs
found in the village before going to bed.
Have dinner and stay overnight at Private Moon Garden Homestay.
Day 6: Ky Son village - Hue

Wake in the peaceful morning with fresh air, we will do a morning
exercise or you will join the host for a 30 minute Taichi. We enjoy a
breakfast before helping the host to prepare offerings for ancestor
worship, a Vietnamese tradition to honor and show deep gratitude to
their ancestor.
Enjoy peaceful moment at the home-stay then say good bye to the host and
leave for the airport for your mid-day flight to Hue.
Upon arrival in the city, be picked up and transferred to your lovely
resort.

Day 7: Hue half day city tour

This morning, we go to Hue city central. Kinh Thanh, the citadel, is
perhaps the most well known site in Hué. Begun in 1805 by Emperor Gia
Long, it is actually a complex comprised of the Imperial City, several
museums, lakes, and lovely gardens, all laid out in a series of
concentric circles. We also visit the Forbidden Purple City, originally
built in the early 1800s for the personal use of the emperor and staffed
by eunuchs who posed no threat to the royal concubines. Almost being
destroyed in the Tet Offensive, today the ruins house the Royal Library
and the grounds flourish with mimosa plants and vegetable plots.
Next, we visit Ngoc Son garden house once belonged to Princess Ngoc Son.
Here we will meet the owner who is also an historian. It is a great touch
to have a talk to him about Hue, his family, his own house and
furniture. After that, you’ll sit down for lunch in the pleasant
surroundings and a comfortable atmosphere of the garden house. The owner
will prepare and serve a traditional meal based on the distinctive
characteristics of classic Hue cuisine.
Back to your hotel and have the rest of day at leisure.

Day 8: Hue – Hoi An

This morning, we leave Hue for Hoian via DaNang with passing through
HaiVan (or literally “Pass of the Ocean Cloud”) DaNang is
situated on a peninsula at the point where the Han River flows into the
South China Sea.

Day 11: Saigon – Mekong delta – Can Tho

Drive from Saigon to My Tho (about 2 hours.) Board a long tail boat
and cross the Mekong river to Ben Tre to get a chance to visiting the fishing villages
and see the 4 islands of Dragon, Unicorn, Turtle and Phoenix. Cruise along Vam
Xep, a small canal with many little village houses dotted along its
sides and witness the daily life of the local villagers.
Get off the boat and visit Quoi An’s bee farm and handicraft workshops
where beautiful coconut products are skillfully hand crafted. Option to
take horse-cart or bicycle around to see peaceful orchards, enjoy
seasonal tropical fruits and listen to the folk music played by the
locals and have lunch.
In the afternoon, take a small sampan along Vam Chua canal with a visit
to a coconut candy making workshop, a sweet tasty specialty of the
region before taking a drive to Can Tho.

Day 12: Can Tho – Phu Quoc
