KILIMANJARO AS A SIGHTED COMPANION

After being told by many agents that blind people cannot climb Kilimanjaro, a young lady read our article online on http://www.kiliadventures.com/ about our blind group who broke the world record in 2009. It is her dream to climb Kilimanjaro but her sighted  companion that normally treks with her is not available, and so, we are looking for someone to join her. The route will be via the Rongai in 2012, probably over 8 or 9 days - so if fulfilling someone's dream is yours too, and climbing Kili is on your list of to do's or do again, please email us.

By the same token - if this is something you would like to be a sponsor for, please email us.

GROUPS TO JOIN

If you are looking for people to join you or want to join a group, let us know and we will list it here.

YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED                                                                    TOP OF PAGE

1) What is the alternative Inca Trail that I have read about online?

This trail is often marketed as the other option if the permits of the Inca Trail have been sold out. It is NOT the actual Inca Trail but instead involves a trek along the Salkantay Route to Santa Teresa, after which you drive to Aguas Calientes and then catch the bus up to the ruins. It must also not be confused with the Salkantay Inca Trail, discussed below.

2) What is the difference between the Salkantay Inca Trail and the Inca Trail?

The Salkantay Inca Trail is a longer trek at higher altitude, starting at Mollepata Trek. It joins into the actual Inca Trail on day 5 at Paucarcancha the point of entry into the Cusichaca Valley.

3) Do you always supply a support truck on the Tibet Mountain Bike Tour, or is that just for fixed departure trips? The support truck is provided for any groups over 6, regardless of fixed departure or not. For groups of lower numbers we can supply a truck, but it will increase the cost of the trip.
