Cuba Escape Tour Special
Cuba is
the Caribbean 's largest island. Its relative political isolation has
prevented it from being overrun by tourists, and as a result, the locals
are very friendly towards tourists. Cuba is a relaxed place to visit,
despite the formality of the colonial architecture. It is known for its
dancing, night life and magnificent beach resorts.
Itinerary
Day 1. Havana
Arrival to Havana. Reception and transfer to your hotel, the 5 star
Nacional, a landmark hotel.
Day 2. Havana (B)
After breakfast, a guided city tour on foot of the historical centre of
Havana including a visit to the Palacio de la Artesania.
Founded on its present site in 1519, the settlement of San Cristóbal de
La Habana prospered mainly due to its bay, which was a natural port of
call for ships sailing to and from the New World. This was one of the
main historical reasons for the subsequent development of a city noted
for its architectural diversity and whose nucleus still contains an
exceptional collection of buildings put up around public squares, and
has led UNESCO to declare it a part of its world heritage in 1982. The
settlement of San Cristóbal de La Habana, which was founded in the
southwestern part of the island in 1514, was moved to the northern coast
of the port of Carenas in 1519.
Day 3.
Havana -Pinar Del Rio - Havana (B & L)
After breakfast, a bus
trip to Pinar del Rio, in the very west of the country.
Named after a pine-tree
forest at the shore of the Río Guamá, Pinar del Rio is famous for its
first cigar factory which was opened in 1760. Lunch included.
The city, like Havana,
has many beautiful pieces of architecture with well maintained
neoclassical buildings and today manufactures some of Cuba's finest
cigars, using tobacco leaves grown near the city. We shall visit the la
Casa de la
Culture (the
House of Culture), and the beautifully restored Milanes Theatre.
Return to Havana
and your hotel.
Day 4. Havana – Varadero
(B, L & D)
After breakfast, transfer to Varadero and your all inclusive resort, the
4 star Internacional.
All meals. Free day at
leisure.
Day 5. Varadero (B, L & D)
All meals. Free day at leisure. Boat adventure in the bay.
Day 6. Varadero (B, L &
D)
Free day at leisure.
Day 7. Varadero - Havana
(B)
After breakfast, return to Havana in time for you connecting flight
home.
