1)I
battle to sleep. Can I take sleeping
pills at altitude?
It is best to avoid sleeping pills
at altitude as some reduce your
respiration rate. At altitude this
lowers your rate of metabolising
oxygen and as such, best avoided.
There are some brands such as
Zolpidem
which are said to not affect your
respiration rate. Either way,
discuss this with your doctor prior
to departure.

What is the
maximum kg allowance for the flight
from Kathmandu to Lukla? The maximum weight allowed is 15kg.

I
have looked at your Tibet Mountain
Bike Tour and also your Annapurna Tilicho Lakes one. Which is harder?
Without a doubt, the Tilicho
Lakes Bike Tour. The Tibet
tour is on predominantly tarred
roads with two days of hard gravel
off road mountain biking. You have a
support van along the way to assist
if you are tired of cycling. On the Tilicho
Lakes, there is no support van.
It is all mountain biking
terrain.
Note that this tour includes a
“rideable rating,” e.g. if a route
is 70% rideable it means that 30% of
the time you will be pushing or
carrying your bike.
