Yes, you can. We have a number of walking safari tours around Empakai highlights, Lake Natron etc. from 7-10 days. 2) Can we go to Machu Picchu ruins by helicopter? No you cannot. There was a proposal made to the cultural institute to allow this until such time as the ruins re-open but it was rejected. 3) When will Machu Picchu re-open to the public? At the moment, the official word is that it will reopen on 1 April 2010. However authorities are working hard to get the rail links repaired before that.
