DAY 1: LISBON

Collect your rental car at Lisbon Airport, make you way to your hotel.  Lisbon is Portugal’s capital, located in the west part of the country, where the River Tagus flows into the Atlantic Ocean. The city of the seven hills is known as “White City” thanks to its unique luminosity. The almost constant presence of the sunshine turns Lisbon into a mirror of a thousand colours, highlighting the exceptional architecture and beauty. Old Lisbon, overlooking the river, bears the mark of genius of Marquis of Pombal as well as the unmistakable contours of the former empire expressed in Belem’s historical borough, living memory of the Discoveries Era. Modern Lisbon, which also lives hand in hand with the river, is an open window on the modern world.

DAY 2: LISBON

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning Lisbon city tour including Marquis of Pombal Square, Liberdade Avenue, D. Pedro Iv Square (Rossio), Commerce Square. Stop for a walking in Alfama and then to the Belem Monumental zone for a visit to the Claustros and Church of Jeronimos Monastery, Belem Tower – photo stop and back to the hotel via Monsanto Park. Afternoon at leisure.

DAY 3: LISBON - ÓBIDOS - NAZARÉ - BATALHA - FÁTIMA

Breakfast at the hotel. Travel north towards the marvellous medieval walled city of Óbidos. Stop at Nazaré, the most typical fishing village in Portugal. Continue to Batalha – visit the Monastery of Santa Maria da Victoria, a masterpiece of the Gothic in Portugal considered World Patrimony by Unesco and onto Fátima – visit to World famous Marian Shrine.

DAY 4: OPORTO

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Oporto, the second largest city in Portugal located near the mouth of the Douro river. Visit the sights of Oporto, including the Cathedral, the marvellous

baroque São Francisco Church, the Stock Exchange, the city centre and the Southern bank where you can visit a Port Wine Cellar. Rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 5: PORTO - VIANA DO CASTELO - BRAGA – GUIMARÃES- BRAGANÇA

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit Viana do Castelo, famous for its Manor Houses of the XVII century and Barcelos, Braga – to see the Bom Jesus. In Guimarães visit the Medieval Palace of the Dukes of Bragança and return back to Oporto via Santo Tirso.

DAY 6: VILA REAL - LAMEGO - VISEU

Breakfast at the hotel. Travel towards Vila Real – visit the Mateus Manor and the Port Wine vineyards. In Viseu visit the Grão Vasco Museum.

DAY 7: COIMBRA - TOMAR - LISBON

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Coimbra and visit the University and the Old Cathedral which is the most important monument of romantic architecture in Portugal and Santa Clara Convent. Continue to Tomar – visit the Christ Convent and return back to Lisbon via Santarém.

DAY 8: LISBON

Breakfast at the hotel. Drop off car at the airport before your return flight.    (B)
