1)How
much mountain biking is involved in
the Tibet Mountain Bike Tour? The route used to be 100%
mountain biking, but since the
Friendship Highway was tarred, it is
now a combination of road and
off-road. The majority of the off
road section is from the road to
Rongbuk base camp, and then from
base camp across the plateau to Tingri. The latter section is the
hardest section of mountain biking.
On crossing the border you will
encounter some muddy sections as
well.
2)
What are the toilet facilities like
on the Inca Trail? There are toilet facilities at
all major camps, and then also at
certain spots along the route, such
as at Phuyuphatamarka. Some are long
drops, some are flush toilets.
3)
Closure of the
Inca Trail Peru. This is not so much a question
as a reminder. Every year around
this time we get asked why the Inca
Trail is closing next year. It is
not closing. What confuses people is
that each February it closes during
the heavy rains for maintenance, but
reopens again in March.
