IN THE NEWS

Tibet Borders Closed: On 9 March 2010 the borders to Tibet were closed, preventing all foreign tourists from entering Tibet from Nepal or mainland China. This move was after the Nepalese police arrested the unofficial representative of the Dalai Lama ahead of the 50th anniversary of the Tibetan uprising on 10 March 2010. It is expected that the borders will re-open on 30 March 2010.

YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED                                                                    TOP OF PAGE

1) Do we need to take mattresses with us on Mt Kenya? No, we supply mattresses for you, though you may also want to take your own "thinsulate" (a light air filled mattress) as this will provide extra padding and warmth/insulation.

2) Can we stay in tents on the Sirimon Chagoria route (Mt Kenya) or do we have to use the huts? No you can also opt to camp. You would camp anyway pre summit night and if you choose to go via Liki-North for an extra day then you would stay in tents here too.

3) We are going to be in Brazil in May and want to see Iguazu Falls. Is it possible to also see it from the Argentina side? The Iguazu Falls trip is normally three or four days, and includes a visit to both sides of the falls, regardless of what side you are staying.
