Machu Picchu is at risk of deteriorating
The ancient Peruvian city of Machu Picchu is at risk of deteriorating according to the World Monuments 2010 Watch List
1) I live at sea level and need to do altitude training? Could you send me a programme. We can certainly help you with physical training for the mountain but the only way to train for altitude is to train at altitude. The other thing to remember is that one cannot predict how you will respond at altitude and a person who has no difficulty on one climb, may get altitude sickness on another climb.
2) I have heard about floating villages in Peru? Where are they? There are several of them but the most well known are the floating villages of Belen in Iquitos Amazon area and also the floating islands of Lake Titicaca on Taquile.
3) Will my cell phone work in Nepal? It all depends on your service provider but if you have a problem you can now by a sim card there for $10 on proof of your passport and visa.
