AMA DABLAN

Without doubt the best photo we have ever seen of Ama Dablan in Nepal. The main peak is 6,812 metres (22,349 ft), and the the lower western peak is 5,563 metres (18,251 ft). Ama Dablam means "Mothers Peal box" or "Mother of Pearl Necklace" (named after the the perennial hanging glacier is thought of as the pearl). Ama Dablam was first climbed on March 13 1961 by Mike Gill, Barry Bishop , Mike Ward and Wally Romanes via the SW ridge
