Janet Wilson
Sighted Climber
Toowoomba
Australian
Partner: Janet Etchells
My name is Janet Wilson and I am in awe of Janet
Etchells bravery in allowing me to be her sighted companion on this
trip.
Getting home from gym can even be a adventure for us! I
drive and Janet E gives me directions! I am a Toowoombaite and
am employed as PA to the director of Centacare Toowoomba. Kilimanjaro
would be the most daunting challenge I have ever faced and I am looking
forward to completing the climb and sharing the experience with a
special group of people.
I hope there will be champagne at the top and a massage at the bottom

Vision Impaired Climber
Toowoomba
Australian
Partner: Janet Wilson
Hi
my name is Janet, I am 42, been legally blind since birth and work in
the Engineering Department of Toowoomba Regional
Council
in the beautiful “Garden City” of Toowoomba situated some 135km west of
Brisbane Qld.
I have
always liked a challenge and am constantly looking for ways to challenge
myself both physically and intellectually, so when the
rather serendipitous opportunity arose to apply to do this climb I had
to grab it with both hands.
I am
looking forward to the physical and mental challenge that this
opportunity will give me while contributing to such a worthwhile cause.
BRING IT ON!!

Shane Falconer
Vision Impaired Climber
Brisbane
Australian
Partner: Mitch McKinnon
Shane is truly a unique individual. He embodies the
spirit of this event and from the first moment we spoke to him on the
phone we knew instantly he was the man for our team. Shane lost his eyesight
several years ago in a car accident. To this day he shares a passion for
bikes and cars, one of the many things he and Mitch share. We knew from the
first minute we had Mitch and Shane in an interview that we had a
dynamite partnership.
These boys are getting busy. Check out their page
here.
