Our Kilimanjaro cleanup took place in May of this year with great success. The various teams of clients, guides and porters headed up the Rongai Route. In total, 300kg of rubbish was cleared off the mountain and carried out via the Marangu route by our incredible teams of porters. Well done to all of those who not only helped clean the mountain but who also made SUMMIT! And a big thanks to our dedicated guides. Our next cleanup will take place in November. Tour itinerary
The Perito Moreno Glacier ruptured on 8/9th July 2008, earlier than expected. Perito Moreno is one of three glaciers in Patagonia that are not retreating. Moving about 2m a day, with a height of about 60metres above water level and 250 km˛ of ice, this massive giant constantly advances forming a natural barrier between Lago Argentina and Brazo Rico – a higher glacial fed lake. Through the constant supply of glacial melt water, Brazo Rico can rise by 30m, causing extreme pressure build up behind the glacier. Over time, this natural symphony builds to a massive crescendo, when the terminus of the glacier ruptures and buckles under the pressure. The first rupture of Perito occurred in 1917 when it took an entire forest with it. Since then it has ruptured every 4-5 years, with it’s last performance on 8th - 9th of July this year, making history, as never before had the glacier ruptured, in winter.Tour itinerary
