POON HILL TREK - ANNAPURNA REGION

ITINERARY

Day 1: ARRIVE KATHMANDU

You will be met at the Airport and then transferred to your Hotel. Day at leisure

 

Day 2SIGHTSEEING

After breakfast at hotel, we will head out on afull day sightseeing (0900hrs) where our first spot will be Swayambhunath and continue as follow (All listed as World Heritage Sites).

 

Day 3 : FLIGHT TO POKHARA

After breakfast we will fly to Pokhara.  After checking in at the hotel  we will head out to view the major sites to include Vindyavasini Temple, and Mahendra Cave. We will also visit the Tibetan Refugee Camp and continue to David Falls before going back to the Hotel. You can have some free time around the city to explore in on your own.

 

Day 4: START THE TREK – REACH GHANDRUNG

After breakfast, drive to the trek starting point Naya Pul (1 hr). The trek starts with descent of an hour to Birethanti. We then walk through the rice fields along the riverside to Syaulibazar. To get to Ghandrung (1,950m) we climb through rice fields and a forest. Here you will find an interesting Gurung village with a good chance to see the famous Fishtail mountain, Machupuchre. Overnight Lodge.

 

Day 5 : TREK TO TADAPANI

Today we will trek through the dense forest preserved by Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) for 3 hours. We will reach Banthanti for lunch after which the route ascends and descends until be reach Tadapani (2,540m). Lodge Overnight. 

 

Day 6 : TREK TO GHOREPANI

The climb today is steep in some places as we head through a mixed forest of oak, magnolia and rhododendron to a small forest clearing at Banathati. The trail then heads up to a ridge with fine views and drops a little to Ghorapani at 2834 meters. (Trekking: 5 hrs) Overnight Lodge

 

Day 7: HIKE UP TO POON HILL. TREK TO TIRKHEDHUNGA

This morning we trek up Poon Hill at 3210m, a vantage point to view the Dhaulagiri (8167 m) and the Annapurna massif. We then head through rhododendron forest and make a steep descend on a stone staircase to Tirkhedungha (1,360m). (Trekking: 6 hrs) Overnight Lodge.

 

Day 8: TREK TO NAYAPUL. DRIVE BACK TO POKHARA

Today is an easy walk of 3/4 hours which will bring us back to Naya Pul, from where we will drive to Pokhara (1hr). Enjoy the attractions of Pokhara on your own. Overnight Hotel.

 

Day 9: FLY BACK TO KATHMANDU

This morning we will rise early and drive to Sarangkot for a view of sunrise over Machupuchre. After breakfast elephant, land rover and canoes will transfer you to waiting vehicles. You will drive to airport and fly to Kathmandu. Rest will be the free day at Kathmandu. HoteL

 

Day 10: FINAL DEPARTURE

Final Departure from Kathmandu.

End of our services.  

Cost is quoted in United States Dollar and subject to change until paid in full: 

Minimum of two people (Conditions apply - see below) people per person sharing        $        950.00

1. All ground transfers as per our itinerary.

2. Five star Hotel in Kathmandu. (Twin Share, Bed and breakfast basis)

4. Welcome Dinner with Live Nepalese Cultural Program hosted by our partner Adventure Company.

4. Guided sightseeing around world heritage sites of Kathmandu. (Includes all applicable entrance fees.)

5. All domestic airfares (Pokhara to Kathmandu).

6. Trekking arrangement in Tea Houses

7. National park / Conservation area entrance permit fees

8. Fish Tail Lodge in Pokhara (twin sharing, including breakfast)

 

Services Excluded:

1. International flights, departure taxes and any excess baggage charges.

2. Airport Taxes of $25 per flight

3. Entry Visa $30

4. Expenses of a personal nature such as bottled drinks, mineral water, laundry and etc.

5. Extra expenses and/of additional days caused due to unexpected events (delays, porterage because of land slides and other natural events.)

6. Rescue and evacuation

7. Personal medical and travel insurance
