Tibetan
Landscape from a Mountain Bike
This
picture was taken the morning after we rejoined the friendship
highway, after leaving behind the majesty of Everest, and some severe
weather conditions. Since we had a long road ahead that day, we set
off shortly after sunrise, and were rewarded with a breathless start to
the day, allowing the mountains to be perfectly mirrored in a
lake we cycled past shortly after setting out. I think it captures
Tibet's poise and rugged beauty, something that is maintained
through calm and storm. Though the unitiated should not allow such moments
of tranquility to lull them into complacency of what the same scene might
look like later in the day.
