LUXURY PERU TO AMAZON ITINERARY
Day 1. Lima
Arrival in Lima , reception at the airport and transfer by private car to the deluxe 5* Miraflores Park Hotel.
Day 2. Lima- Guided tour of Lima
This tour
takes you on a private guided visit of colonial and modern Lima ,
including the cathedral, the San Francisco Convent and its catacombs. The
tour also includes a visit to the residential areas of San Isidro and
Miraflores. Return to your hotel .

Day 3. Lima to Cuzco -Cuzco and ancient sights
Transfer to
the airport for your flight to Cuzco. Afternoon private guided visit of
the four ruins nearby, starting with the Sacsayhuaman Fortress, Kenko,
red Fortress of Puca-Pucara and Tambomachay, the Main Square , the
Cathedral and the Koricancha or Temple of the Sun.
Return to
your hotel for dinner and a folkloric show. (BLD)
Day 4. Moray Agricultural Circles and Moras Salt Pans
In the afternoon, we will head out
to Moray, located some 53 km northwest of Cusco, an admirable Inca experimental farm, where a natural depression has been transformed into enormous terraces superimposed in concentric form in the shape of a coliseum.
After the tour, the trip continues to Moray, site of several pre-Inca salt pans which are still used today to crystallize salt from water.

Day 5 . Sacred Valley to Pisac and Ollantaytambo
Full -day
excursion to the beautiful Urubamba , the Sacred Valley of the Inca
situated between Pisac and Ollantaytambo. The Sacred Valley was once home
to numerous Incan farming settlements, as well as being a through route to
the Jungle, enabling them access to the fruits and plants of the tropical
lowlands.
We then
visit the village of Pisac. On Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, Indians
barter their products in the main square and artisans from around the area
sell their woven alpaca wool blankets and ponchos, engraved gourds,
antique reproductions, jewellery, etc.
After a
buffet lunch, a visit to Ollantaytambo, built on top of original Inca
foundations and is the best surviving example of Inca town planning. The
gigantic monoliths are part of what was to be a shrine or temple. The
temple area is at the top of steep terracing which helped to provide
excellent defences.Transfer to your hotel. (BLD)
Day 6 . Cuzco to Machu Picchu
Transfer to
the Poroy station to board the 09h00 Hiram Bingham luxury train to the
town of Aguas Calientes and then transfer to the sanctuary of Machu Picchu
. The train, departing every day except Sunday?s, makes the journey in 3
and half hours.
A private
guided tour of the marvellous citadel, visiting the Main Plaza , the Royal
Quarters, the Temple of Three Windows, the Circular Tower and the Sacred
Sun Dial and Burial Grounds. Overnight at the Machu Picchu Sanctuary

Day 7 . Machu Picchu to Cuzco
Option to visit the sanctuary again on your own. Transfer to the train station for the 18h15 journey back to Cuzco with cocktails and dinner on board the trail. Transfer to Hotel Monasterio. (BD) .
Day 8. Cuzco to the Amazon - Manu
Transfer to your flight to Manu - Connecting flight for the 35 minute journey to Boca
Manu. Reception and transfer to the river for the two hour trip down the Madre de Dios River to the Manu Wildlife
Centre located on the north bank of the Madre de Dios River .
The main dining room is screened, and has a comfortable seating area and a small library of wildlife articles and books. It is lit by kerosene lamps and by candles. All buildings are connected by well manicured gravel paths, lit by kerosene torch at night. Bungalows have candles for light, as opposed to kerosene lanterns. There is no
electricity.
The lodge is remote, rustic and surrounded by 48 km of scientifically-designed forest trails where one can look out for the 10 species of resident monkeys, namely the acrobatic Black Spider Monkey, Brown and White-fronted Capuchins, Bolivian Squirrel Monkey, Saddleback Tamarin, Dusky Titi, Night Monkey, Red Howler, Monk Saki, and the spectacular, mustachioed Emperor Tamarin.

Day 9. Macaw Lick
Early start for the Macaw Clay Lick around
04h30. The lick is a great wildlife spectacle as hundreds of Parrots and Macaws congregate to eat the mineral rich clay that is essential to their digestion.
Macaw licks host not only Macaws but other parrots as well, in a show of flying, swooping, hovering, landing and general confusion that results in waves of parrots and Macaws visiting the clay wall. Night at the Manu Wildlife Centre. (BLD)
Day 10. Manu Wildlife Centre Activities
A full day to explore the forest and trails around the lodge. Looking for Monk Saki - a rarely seen monkey and also for groups of Manakins, neo-tropical birds that perform their strange mating dances. Also a walk to a blind close to a large mammal lick where Guans, Parakeets and groups of Black Spider Monkeys visit on occasions.

Day 11. Manu to Lima via Cuzco
After breakfast, head upriver to the small airstrip at Boca Manu. Early morning flocks of birds normally pass over the boat, and you may see Capybara, the world's largest rodent. Arrival at the airstrip, board your aircraft for the 35 minute flight back to Cuzco , and your onward flight to Lima . Transfer to your 5* Hotel in Lima , the Miraflores Park Hotel. (B)
Day 12. Depart Lima
Transfer to the airport for your return flight home. (B)
