Nomadic Adventures are active members of SATSA (The Southern Africa Tourism Services Association). SATSA’s aim is to set the highest possible standards for tourism by supplying a measure of accreditation that each member needs to comply with in order to bear the SATSA logo. The logo is a symbol of credibility, stability and integrity that ultimately provides both tourists and the trade with peace of mind when it comes to dealing with tourist related businesses.

We don't only work on fixed departure dates. We tailor make your adventure tour or trek to meet your needs and requirements, be it additional days in the country to acclimatise, venture off on a journey of discovery amongst the people or simply to sit back, relax and absorb a whole new world.
We do not reject anyone who wants to climb in pairs or small groups and in some cases, trek alone. We will always do our best to accommodate your specific needs.
We work with country based tour operators and local guides who have proven their success in their field. We work with local guides who know the local conditions, customs and culture and most importantly, the mountains that they spend so much time in. Who better to escort you around the country than the very people who live there.
Our ground operators in each destination are well affiliated to various organizations in their country to include porter protection and environmental sustainability.
We regularly give back to the communities we work in and will readily get involved in charity climbs and treks, offering you the lowest cost trek possible.
We are committed to environmental sustainability and regularly get involved in cleanup operations e.g. bi-annual treks up Kilimanjaro to clean rubbish off the mountain, annual treks on the Everest base camp route to clean up what we can.
We are members of SATSA ( South African Tourism Association), affording our clients protection under the umbrella of SATOUR and the South African Tourism Board.

Debra Bouwer - Company Owner and Tour Consultant

Debra started Nomadic Adventures after 11 years of Lecturing Sociology at University, when she first climbed Kilimanjaro and discovered that this is "her bliss". With a "passion for the peaks," discovering new and exciting destinations, Debra has travelled extensively. Having travelled through every destination, her treks to date include Island peak and Everest Base Camp. six Kilimanjaro summits, Mt Meru, Inca Trail and two Everest Advanced Base Treks to 6340m.

Maggie Raymakers - Tour and In House Travel

Maggie joined Nomadic Adventures after spending 17 years of working as a Travel Agent, seeking to expand her knowledge of grass routes tour planning and coordination. From Kenya to Miami, Maggie has travelled the world. She is fluent in Portuguese and apart from tours, handles all in-house flight bookings.

Dr Johan Bouwer - Medical Consultant

Dr Bouwer has been in Medical Practice for the last 36 years, after qualifying with MBChB (Pret) and then MFGP (Rhod). He is the one that screens all of the pre-climb medical questionnaires that our clients complete.

	Tengi Jambu Sherpa Tenzing is one of our most experienced, knowledgeable Himalayan guides. He also is our top mountain bike guide, holding a personal record for cycling 3200km in 54 days! 	Thile Sherpa Thile is one of our older guides, who has trekked in Nepal and Tibet for the last 16 years, from the Dhaulagiri to Everest.
